Budapest - McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen claimed his first Formula One Grand Prix win Sunday after Ferrari's Felipe Massa was forced to retire as he appeared to be coasting to victory.

Beijing - Jamaican sprint sensation Usain Bolt will go for a sprint double at the Beijing Games in a boost for Olympic athletics, it was confirmed on Sunday.

There was less good news for organizers as they were warned that rain could dampen Friday's proposed opening ceremony, while typhoons could cause a postponement of the equestrian and sailing events.

Zhang Qiang, the deputy director of the Beijing Weather Modification Office, said she expected rainfall over Beijing during the Games to be slightly more than normal.

"The temperature will also be slightly higher," she said.

Jagmohan Dalmiya is elected head of the Cricket Association of Bengal. He defeated sitting president of CAB Prasun Mukherjee at the Eden Gardens. The result of voting is not officially declared but Dalmia is expected to gain 71 votes while Mukherjee got 47 votes. The election was started at 7 pm and total of 121 eligible units cast their vote.

The football practice match between India and Malaysia remained draw on Tuesday. This practice match was played ahead of the AFC Challenge Cup football tournament which is scheduled in the end of month. The match was aimed to make both teams aware about ground conditions and to raise their confidence level before Challenge Cup football tournament. The match is likely to come from July 30 to August 10.  

The first half was not much impressive without any goal by players of both teams. A free kick taken by Climax Lawrence was worth mentioning.
