Steyn thirsting for revenge against Australia

Johannesburg, Dec. 3 : South African tearaway Dale Steyn appears intent on exacting revenge upon the Australian side that punished him during his Proteas limited-overs debut three years ago.

Clearly rattled by the Jaques onslaught, the then 22-year-old was removed from the attack after just five overs, but not before he had conceded 58 runs, including seven no-balls.

"I look back on that game as probably the most important of my career," Steyn told the Herald.

Wrist injury will not cut Ponting’s career short, says Oz physio

Melbourne, Dec. 3 : Australian cricket team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris has dismissed speculation that captain Ricky Ponting''s career could be cut short by a wrist injury.

Ponting was visiting his surgeon Greg Hoy in Melbourne on Thursday for assessment of his right wrist, after he had a screw inserted in July to repair tissue and tendon damage.

The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Kountouris as saying that the appointment had been planned six weeks ago. He said the pain Ponting was experiencing was standard after any type of surgery and was not severe enough to have caused him to miss a training session let alone consider being rested from any matches.

Jankovic's life changed as she ended the 2008 season on the top ranking spot and demands on her time are obviously growing. Sydney officials are still keen to have her and would happily offer a late entry to the tournament starting January 11.
