London - The Football Association confirmed Monday that they are considering disciplinary action against Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear, who called match official Martin Atkinson a "Mickey Mouse referee" following Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

Kinnear was heavily critical of Atkinson's decision not to give Newcastle a free kick for a challenge between Fulham forward Andy Johnson and Newcatsle defender Claudio Cacapa, in the move that led to the penalty from which Fulham scored the winner.

London  - Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insisted Monday that the club will not be making any new signings in January and has no immediate plans to move away from Stamford Bridge.

A Sunday newspaper had claimed Chelsea were considering a move to a site in Battersea, 5 kilometres from their Stamford Bridge home.

"We are not considering any advanced plans to move away from Stamford Bridge as recent reports have suggested," said Kenyon.

Monte Carlo - Jamaican supersprinter Usain Bolt and Russian pole vault queen Yelena Isinbayeva are among the six finalists for the World Athlete of the Year award.

The governing body IAAF said in a statement on Monday that the Bolt, who won 100m, 200m and 4x100m gold at the Beijing Olympics in world record times, double long-distance gold medallist Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia and 110m hurdles Olympic champion Dayron Robles of Cuba were the final three men.

Isinbayeva won pole vault gold with a world record. She is joined by 5,000m and 10,000m Olympic champion Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia and Kenyan 800m sensation Pamela Jelimo, who also ran to gold in Beijing in August, in the women's list.

Islamabad, Nov 10 : The PCB is likely to hold a Twenty20 tournament in the memory of the country’s former premier Benazir Bhutto. The tournament will be named Benazir Bhutto Twenty20 event.

Expected to be held later this month, the event will feature all the leading teams in the country and it is likely to be played in the vacant period available between the Pentangular Cup cricket and the start of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy championships, reported The News.

London  - Ten days after Liverpool lost their unbeaten Premier League record at White Hart Lane, they have their chance for revenge as they return to face Tottenham in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.

Liverpool have bounced back from that defeat, beating West Brom 3-0 on Saturday to remain level on points at the top of the Premier League.
