Paes-Black Win Grand Slam Title

Leander Paes won the doubles championship of US Open. It is the eighth Grand Slam title in Paes-Black Win Grand Slam Titlehis entire career. Paes with his Zimbabwean partner Carla Black gave stiff competition to the opposition team to earn the mixed title of grand slam.

Both Leander Paes and Carla Black defeated Liezel Huber of the US and Jamie Murray of Great Britain in an interesting competition. They won the match with 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Leander Paes is also battling to win the men's doubles final with Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy.

F1 Coverage Rights Given To ESPN-STAR Sports

A telecast deal was renewed today between Formula One Management (FOM) and F1 Coverage Rights Given To ESPN-STAR Sports  ESPN-STAR Sports for another five years, which will give ESPN-STAR Sports broadcast rights of the FIA Formula One World Championship across multiple platforms in 24 Asian markets.

ESPN-STAR Sports will get the right to telecast Formula One action across platforms including TV, internet, mobile and radio, through this deal.

ESPN-STAR Sports footprint in Asia would be covered under these rights, which includes major markets of India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea.

Lee Will Play Test Match Against India

Australian fast bowler Brett Lee said that he is ready to play Test cricket in India next Lee Will Play Test Match Against Indiamonth.

He said that he would not skip the forthcoming tournaments despite break up of his marriage. He broke relationship with his wife of two years, Liz Kemp in last month.

He spent some time with his team mates and discuss about the forthcoming matches. He was, earlier, given time to deal with his wife. But he, now, decided to play the four Tests against India.

KSLTA Backs AITA Move

All India Tennis Association has allowed private promoters to conduct ATP and WTA events in the country. The secretary of the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), Mr. C.S. Sunder Raju welcomed the move of sports body.

He said that the move will encourage the young players and they can get more facilities of international standards from private investors.

However, he stressed the need to some monitoring measures for protecting the interests of the game. He said that the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association is in favor of ATP and the body is not happy to drag the name of association in this controversy.

Kirsten Feels; Dhoni Ready For Test Captaincy

The India coach, Gary Kirsten recently praised Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and said that the Kirsten Feels; Dhoni Ready For Test Captaincy man is ready to become the captain of the Indian cricket team from all forms.

However, he also confirmed that since Anil Kumble is doing a terrific job as a captain and leading the Test side, there was no immediate need to post Dhoni as the Captain presently. 

Private Promoters To Be Retrained By AITA

A major decision has been taken up by the All India Tennis Association (AITA), as it has decided to cancel all the ATP and WTA tours, which were supposed to be held this month. Further, the Association has decided that no private entrepreneurs would be allowed to organize such events in future.

On 29th and 30th August, AITA’s  executive committee meeting and annual general meeting was held in Goa after which it was decided that ATP and WTA promoters won’t be allowed to hold such events in future as it projects the poor image of the country.

Due to some security concerns, the ATP Tournament was reportedly canceled that earlier was to be held by Globosport in Mumbai but later moved in hands of Reliance ADG in Bangalore.
