Mendis doesn’t carry extra burden of expectations: JayawardeneKarachi, Jan 19: Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene has refused to single out spin sensation Ajantha Mendis as the major threat for Pakistan in the one-day series.

The 23-year-old Mendis and his more famous partner Muttiah Muralitharan are tipped to hold the aces against the home team in the three-match series, which starts here from Tuesday, The News reported.

But Jayawardene said Mendis doesn't carry extra burden of expectations.

London, Jan. 19: Former England football star David Beckham has said that Manchester United will always be the number one football club in England in his eyes, and adds that the Arab-owned Manchester City club will be a pretender at best.

"I only care about Manchester United personally. City have been bought by a company now and there's a lot of money there. But for me, United are the only team in Manchester," The Sun quoted Beckham, as saying during a training session with the Italian club A C Milan.

Commenting on Brazilian star Kaka, who has been approached by Manchester City with an offer of 91 million pounds, Beckham said Kaka did not need his advice.

London, Jan. 19 : Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has reportedly told the Arab owners of the club to sign Brazilian and A C Milan football star Kaka now or risk missing out on him.

Hughes' missive came as the club's executive chairman Garry Cook and City officials are due to sit down with the Brazilian's father Bosco Leite and AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani in Italy today to firm up their 91 million pound pursuit of Kaka, The Sun reports.

The deal, with wages and add-ons, could still reach as much as 243 million pounds.

Real Madrid have emerged as possible rivals in the chase for the superstar.
