Perot Systems chalks out expansion plansUS-based $2.8 billion Perot Systems would open a new facility in Chennai and one in Coimbatore in a bid to expand its business in the country. The new facility is aimed to bring the company's worldwide BPO (business process outsourcing) operations in a single floor to deliver efficient results. The company has already invested about $2 million for these facilities to make them operational by the end of March.

Sun Media Drops Out of CP CanWest Global Communication Corp. dropped out of The Canadian Press national news organization in 2007, and now Sun Media Corp. is following in its footsteps. Quebecor-owned Sun Media has given notice that it plans to pull out of The Canadian Press and form its own news-gathering service.

Canadian Press executive editor Gerry Arnold told the Globe that is was already planning to restructure it co-operative configuration in which none of the news papers will be a part of the cooperative anymore. Instead, they will now function as commercial customers of the agency and will buy services.

TATA-owned Land Rover offered 27 million pounds to produce ''Green Car''London, Mar. 12: The British Government has offered a grant of up to 27 million pounds to TATA-owned Jaguar Land Rover for the production of a new ''green'' car.

According to a Sky News report, the company will make a decision later this year on whether to go ahead with the
400 million pound project at its factory at Halewood on Merseyside.

The car will be based on Land Rover''s LRX Concept vehicle.

BSNL To Roll Out 3G Service In Chennai; Signs MoU With L&T Arun Excello Chief General Manager of BSNL, M P Velusamy said that the state-owned telecommunication company is all set to roll out its much-awaited 3G services in the Chennai telecom district, comprising Chennai, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur, in the first week of June.

Mr. Velusamy was lecturing at a press meet held for the signing of a MoU between BSNL and L&T Arun Excello Realty Pvt. Ltd to set up telecom infrastructure at the Estancia Integrated Township.

Aurobindo Gets Tentative Approval For Lopinavir/Ritonavir TabletsIndia’s Aurobindo Pharma has notified that it has secured tentative approval from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for marketing generic lopinavir/ritonavir tablets.

It should be noted that the drug are generic equivalent of Abbott Laboratories' (ABT) Kaletra tablets and falls under anti-retrovial (ARV) segment.

The drugs are prescribed for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and children above the age of two years. The tablets are used together with other anti-retroviral agents.

Tata Steel Expect To Save $831 Mln From Corus OperationsA top representative said that steel major Tata Steel is confident of saving 600 million pounds ($831 million) between October 2008 and March 2009 from the operations of its UK-subsidiary, Corus.

Tata Steel bought the Anglo-Dutch company Corus in October 2006.

The company had launched a cost-cutting programme in 2008 in order to save this amount to bridge over the economic disaster.
