Singapore - Six short films documenting political activities in Singapore have been approved by Singapore censors, the first since the easing of an outright ban last month, media reports said on Saturday.
The films produced by Ho Choon Hiong, 33, focus on street demonstrations, protests and fasting.
"It is an encouraging sign," The Straights Times quoted Ho as saying of the Board of Film Censors (BFC) nod.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said last month that the ban could be relaxed. He said during the National Day Rally address that factual footage, documentaries and recordings of live events would be okayed.

Due to an overdose of medicine veteran singer Asha Bhosle's daughter Varsha was admitted to a city hospital early on Tuesday morning.
According to some media reports 51 year old Varsha had attempted suicide by taking an overdose of medicines.
Speaking on this, DCP Ramrao Pawar said, "The doctors did not find any poison in her body. She had taken an overdose of medicines. We’ll decide whether to register a case of attempted suicide after she regains consciousness.”
However, the doctors declined to comment on this issue.

Hong Kong - A Las Vegas casino is suing the estate of a Hong Kong businessman who leapt to his death after running up a casino bill of almost 800,000 US dollars, a news report said Thursday.
Wynn Las Vegas filed the suit in Hong Kong's High Court alleging that Alvin Lau Chiu-leung failed to pay back 782,000 dollars of a 2005 credit advanced by the casino, the South China Morning Post reported.
