Egypt calls for strengthening strategic partnership with India

Mohammad Hosni MubarakNew Delhi, Nov 17 : Egyptian President Mohammad Hosni Mubarak, who arrived on a four-day visit to India on Sunday, has called for giving momentum to the strategic and economic ties between India and Egypt.

Addressing the Indo-Egyptian Business Forum here today, President Mubarak said that India and Egypt have all what it takes to give renewed momentum to the strategic partnership to increase the trade and investment.

"There is a strong foundation and common objectives for taking the ties to a new high," he added.

Speaking exclusively to ANI, Adi Godrej, CMD of Godrej Group said "Clearly the global crisis is affecting India perhaps more little the most people thought but I think we have the means to fight it strongly and I think the government should take quick action."

Third South Asian conference on sanitation to open in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 17 : The Ministry of Rural Development will organise a third South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN-III) here from tomorrow.

The four day long conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Besides, the members of different UN and International Agencies, International and National NGOs, State officials, members of Panchayati Raj Institutions, local organizations, self help groups, women groups, community based organizations and the like are expected to participate in the conference.

Green and nuclear is India’s energy future

New Delhi, Nov. 17 : Green and nuclear is the only way forward for India’s energy requirements in the years to come.

This was the unanimous conclusion of the panelists at a session titled “Fuelling India’s Future: Will it be Green and Nuclear?” at the 24th India Economic Summit, jointly organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and World Economic Forum in New Delhi.

Clean technologies such as nuclear, bio fuels, wind and solar need an increased focus, to ensure energy security for India, concluded the panel. According to the panelists, solar energy has the potential to get energy to the remotest village in India and replacing the costlier, more inefficient grid power.

Afghan pavilion at Indian Trade Fair attracts hordes of visitors

The 28th IITF -2008'', one of Asia''s largest trade expositions organized by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) kick started on Friday.

At least 30 leading businessmen are participating in the fair with an aim to explore the market in India.
