Vice-President Ansari to inaugurate 4th NE Business Summit tomorrowNew Delhi, Sept 14 : Vice President Hamid Ansari will inaugurate the 4th North East Business Summit in Guwahati tomorrow.

The two-day summit is being organised by the Department of North East Region, DoNER in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce, ICC, Kolkata.

The main objective of the summit is to showcase the potential of the NE States and to promote private sector investments.

The bombings in New Delhi came after serial blasts in Jaipur, Bangalore and Ahmedabad, which claimed more than a hundred lives and injured many more.

During his visit, Prachanda will meet his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh, President Pratibha Patil, and Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari.

He is also scheduled to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Opposition Leader LK Advani, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, JD (United) president Sharad Yadav, and NCP chief Sharad Yadav, besides former prime ministers VP Singh, Dewe Gowda and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Death toll in Delhi serial blasts rises 30New Delhi, Sept 14 : The death toll from the series of five bomb blasts that rocked market places on Saturday evening has climbed up to 30.

Around 125 people were injured in the blasts that took place in New Delhi’s prime market places like Karol Bagh’s Gaffar market, Connaught Place, Greater Kailash-I’s M-Block market and Barakhamba Road in a span of 40-50 minutes.

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil announced an ex-gratia of Rs eight lakh to the next of the kin of those killed and Rs 50,000 as compensation to the injured.
