Saudi Arabia proposes an international body to fight terrorism

Saudi ArabiaNew Delhi, Dec 26 : Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal, who arrived here today said that his country has proposed to the United Nations to form an international body to fight terrorism across the globe.

After holding talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee, Al-Faisal said that all countries should work together to stop such attacks that were witnessed in Mumbai.

"As a matter of fact, Saudi Arabia has a proposal that we made to the United Nations to create a special body for the international community to come together and fight terrorism," he added.

India, South Africa air services agreement approved

IndiaNew Delhi, Dec 26  The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation for superseding the existing Air Services Agreement (ASA) signed on December 5, 1998 between India and South Africa by a revised ASA.

This ASA is based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) template.

The revised ASA signifies an important landmark in civil aviation relations between India and South Africa. It has the potential to spur greater trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Fortis to raise Rs 1,000 cr by right issue

Fortis would also upgrade its existing facilities and explore more investment opportunities in the market. The company currently has 23 hospitals and wants to add more by 2012.
