Vice President inaugurates conference on spinal deformity

hamid ansariNew Delhi, Oct 2 : Vice President M. Hamid Ansari inaugurated the Scoliosis Research Society Worldwide program on “Spinal Deformity: Current Concepts” here today.

Ansari said, “The subject of this conclave is factually and figuratively a part of our being and therefore inseparable from human condition and human health.”

Advances in medical science have helped us identify spinal deformity as a medical condition capable of being treated, said Ansari, and added, “As a result, today it is possible to straighten a crooked spine through surgical intervention.”

No changes in content of 123 Agreement: Mulford

In New Delhi, Muslims thronged the Jama Masjid to offer Eid prayers. Wishing the nation a ''Happy Eid'', the devotees prayed for peace and happiness.

"After keeping fast for 30 days, Allah has given us Eid as a gift. We celebrate it with lot of fervor and offer prayers in the mosques," said Mohammad Muzamil, a devotee.

At Jamia Nagar locality, Muslims offered Eid prayers at the mosque near the Batla House wearing a black band on their arms in protest against the recent arrests of two young men from the locality for suspected involvement in the serial blasts in New Delhi last month.
