However, this time Akki would not be co-assisted by his lucky lady Katrina Kaif. This time he will rock the audience with Jab We Met actress Kareena Kapoor.

In fact, the release date for the Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakkth Ishq has been finalized for 29th May, 2009.

The scrip opened strongly at Rs 133 and moved upwards to Rs 156.60, up 15.6%, from the last closure on the Bombay Stock Exchange (at 2:29 pm).

Bird Flu Spreads To New Areas In AssamThe Assam government has made it clear that the avian influenza has spread to new areas of the state.

Sources in the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department said that the deadly bird flu virus was confirmed in about 15 more villages. The health authorities have been asked to cull nearly 70,000 birds in these areas.

Speaking on this, a veterinary department official said, “So far about 150 villages in eight Assam districts were hit by bird flu and Rapid Response Teams have already slaughtered about 510,000 chickens and ducks since November 27.”

‘Sunburn’ Music Fest Stopped For Noise Pollution‘Sunburn Goa 08’, the Asia's biggest musical beach party started on Saturday with conditional permission at Candolim beach, was stopped mid way on Sunday for breaking noise pollution norms.

The three-day Sunburn 2008 music beach festival had abrupt ending when the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) issued an order canceling the conditional NOC issued to the organizers of the festival.

North Goa Additional Collector Swapnil Nail said, “The festival was stopped at around 8.15 pm based on GSPCB report which cited violation of noise pollution levels.”

Core Projects Buys US-Based Princeton Review For $20 Mln

Leading global education management systems provider, Core Projects & Technologies announced that it has acquired a unit of US-based education firm The Princeton Review, for USD 20 million (nearly 97.5 crore).

In a statement, the company said that the acquisition will be completed through its wholly owned subsidiary CORE Education & Consulting Solutions Inc, USA (CECS). The statement also added that the acquisition will be funded out of debt.

It is learnt that the takeover of the K-12 division of The Princeton Review (TPR) will add about USD 24 million to the global revenues of Core Projects & Technologies.

The deal also includes the acquisition of products and solutions, along with management team of TPR.

A Teenage Girl, Forest Official Injured By Big Cat

A tiger attacked a girl and a forest official from Betalpara village in Sunderbans on Sunday. The tiger was later caged by forest department personnel.

The injured people were identified as Krishna Pada Mondal, the forest official, and a Class V student named as Usha Sardar.

It is learnt that on Sunday morning, Usha had gone with her relative, Swapna Sardar, to cut grass in a nearby field at 7 a.m. Suddenly the big cat pounced upon Usha.

Sardar's screams for help alarmed the villagers, who compelled the tiger to leave Usha behind and flee into the bushes.
