The availability of vaccines in the country has been hit due to the withdrawal of license to three manufacturing units in Kasauli, Coonoor and Chennai, admitted the government on Wednesday. However, it assured that in order to overcome the shortage, efforts are being made.

Health Minister A Ramadoss told the Lok Sabha while answering to supplementaries during the Question Hour, “There was shortage of vaccines due to withdrawal of licenses to the three units.”

The Indian cinema has left a deep impression at the Dubai International Film Festival, which ends on December 17, 2008.

Film Dilli 6, which is jointly produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Productions and UTV Motion Pictures, was inaugurated.

The film was screened before the stalwarts of entertainment.

Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and UTV's Siddharth Roy Kapoor were present at the festival.

As per the international reports, following a sponsorship deal signed with the Indian automobile giant, the Tata brand name will figure on Formula 1, the world’s most-famed motorsport, which is being considered an ambitious global branding move.

President Luca di Montezemolo reported, “For the first time an Indian brand will appear on the Ferrari. It’s historic.” Although the details and duration are being worked out, a Ferrari spokesperson confirmed the deal.

It was revealed by the government data on Thursday that for the week ended December 6, India's annual rate of inflation dropped further to 6.84 per cent from 8per cent the week before. The analysts say that the sharp drop was triggered largely by the drop in petrol and diesel prices. During the corresponding week last year, the rate of inflation was 3.84 per cent. 

On Wednesday, search engine Yahoo! Inc informed that it will cut to three months the time it stores personal data gathered from web surfing, making its retention policy the shortest among peers.

The computer addresses of the users would be anonymized by the company within three months in most cases, from a prior standard of 13 months. There is a chance that fraud or system security is involved, so the company is reserving the right to keep data for up to six months.

Apple has unveiled yet another updated version of laptops in India and this new line introduced by the company is called MacBook Pro. The users will get the latest MacBook Pro with notable internal overhaul, including new Penryn-class Intel CPUs, new touch pad gestures and a backlit LED option.
