Rambus to Develop high speed Memory for Mobile Phones and Low Power Devices

RambusMonday saw Rambus, a developer of high-speed interfaces and memory technologies, announcing its Mobile Memory Initiative. With this initiative, the company aims at achieving data rates of 4.3GHz at best-in-class power efficiency.

Martin Scott, senior vice president of research and technology development at Rambus reported, "As consumer expectations grow for more media-rich applications on their mobile devices, new memory solutions will be needed to keep pace with the rapidly increasing bandwidth requirements."

On Tuesday, IBM informed that it is working to come up with technology for its new Sequoia computer, with delivery scheduled in 2011 to the Department of Energy for use at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Export sector registered steep decline in January

Stock MarketGlobal slowdown, spreading fast in India, has adversely hit country's export sector in January with reported decline of 22% in merchandise exports. The data provided for January gives indication of grimmer situation ahead with a large number of job losses and stagnation in economy.

The country witnessed overall 1.1 per cent decline in export in December. Experts believe that situation may become worse in coming months for exporters due to non-availability of new contracts in the international market.

Indiagames launches Dev D video game

Dev DOnline gaming and mobile games company, Indiagames on Monday launched its latest mobile game, 'Dev D', joining bollywood films Ghajini and Chandni Chowk to China which have been converted into video games.

Dev D was launched by Indiagames' CEO Vishal Gondal in the presence of the two leading actresses, Mahi and Kalki, of the Abhay Deol's film.

Vishal Gondal, CEO, Indiagames, said, "Movie companies have started looking at mobile gaming very seriously as an opportunity. This year has been great for us as we have started with 'Ghajani', followed by 'Chandni Chowk to China', and now we are doing 'Dev D'."

Government to probe accounts of Educomp and Six other PSUs

Educomp The government, after ordering probe into IPOs of all listed companies, has ordered to scrutinize accounts of the education software and services firm, Educomp Solutions and Six public sector companies.

The move is aimed to check financial irregularities of accounts of these firms after the disclosure of largest ever corporate fraud committed by disgraced Satyam's Chief B Ramalinga Raju and other top executives of beleaguered software company.
