World's First Personal Supercomputer 'Tesla'  The world’s first personal supercomputer has been developed by the Scientists, which would be 25 times faster than average PC. It is obviously a technological breakthrough that could introduce enormous speed to the next generation of home computers.

The name of the supercomputer is Tesla, which has been created by US-based Company NVIDIA. The supercomputer that looks more or less like an ordinary PC has been priced between 4,000 pounds and 8,000 pounds.

Bird Flu Spreads To Barpeta, Nalbari In AssamBird Flu virus has spread to two more regions including Barpeta and Nalbari in lower Assam.

The fresh outbreak prompted the State Veterinary department to start the culling of thousands of chickens in these regions.

The samples, which were sent to laboratories in Bhopal, have tested positive for H5N1 avian influenza.

The State Government has ordered culling operations and Rapid Response Teams (RRT)s have already begun going from house-to-house asking the habitants to give away their poultry birds to them.

Sensex Stripped Again, Ends Below 9KIndian equities ended the week below 9,000 mark due to strong selling pressure witnessed across IT, consumer durable, oil & gas and metal stocks.

The 30-share index BSE Sensex, which opened with a loss of 25.06 points at 9,204.69, on Friday, rallied for a short time but profit booking at higher levels brought it back into the negative terrain.    

Among the sectoral indices, BSE Consumer durables and IT lost more than 4% each, Realty, Metal and Oil&gas declined over 3% each.   

BSE Midcap and Smallcap index lost 1.02% and 0.25% respectively.

Government collected Rs 1,77,251 crore as direct taxes between April to November this fiscal. The collection was Rs 1,45,053 crore till November last year. Low economic activities impacted the state revenue significantly as companies are facing low demand amid tight monetary policy and global slow demand. Tax growth witnessed 45% increase earlier this year while 29.5% growth a month ago.
