Tokyo  - Japanese stocks rose in Friday morning trading, buoyed by gains on Wall Street.

The Nikkei 225 Stock Average climbed 63.26 points, or 0.62 per cent, to stand at 10,330.43.

The broader-based Topix index also rose 0.86 points, or 0.09 per cent, to stand at 909.46.

On currency markets at 9 am (0000 GMT), the dollar traded at 91.41-45 yen, barely changed from 91.42-44 yen in late trading Thursday.

The euro traded at 1.5038-40 dollars, up from 1.4974-76 dollars, and at 137.47-50 yen, up from 136.90-94 yen. (dpa)
