Truck bomb kills at least four Iraqis near Mosul

Truck bomb kills at least four Iraqis near Mosul Baghdad  - A man drove a truck laden with explosives toward a police station near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, killing himself and at least four other people, police said Tuesday morning.

Fifteen people, nine of them policemen, were also wounded in the attack on the police station in the district of al-Mahata, south of Mosul, police told the German Press Agency dpa.

Iraqi security forces have arrested more than 100 insurgents in Mosul, some 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, since they began an offensive dubbed "Operation New Hope" on February 20.

Insurgents have responded with near-daily attacks in and near the city, which remains among Iraq's most dangerous. (dpa)
