Tyndall Center calling UK for a moratorium on shale gas
The British government should impose a moratorium on the use of shale gas, and environmental impacts are understood, said a report.
The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research Report comes amid reports that a company reserves found in Lancashire.
United States officials are investigating the allegation that the shale gas wells contaminated water supply.
But British Prime Minister rejected a moratorium saying that shale gas drilling is not a threat.
The authorities are well aware that there are reports in the United States have problems with some shale gas projects and they are putting all the efforts to curb any danger to the environment, informed a spokesman for the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
It puts pressure on companies that invest in natural gas shale, and further studies on the effects of chemicals to the underground release of gas trapped in shale rock might be need.
