US hopes for full cooperation from the new Pak Government

Lahore, Feb 20: White House spokesperson Dana PerinoWhite House spokesperson Dana Perino has said that the United States is hopeful about receiving full cooperation from the new Pakistan Government in the war against terror.

Another White House spokesperson said Washington would like to work cordially with the new Government in Pakistan, the Daily Times reported.

State Department spokesperson Tom Casey said the US hopes the new Government in Pakistan would fully cooperate with President Pervez Musharraf.

"The US is not telling anyone what to do, it’s just a hope," he added.

Nicole Thompson, another spokesperson of the State Department, said elections in Pakistan should be seen as an important step towards introducing democracy in the country. (ANI)
