U.S. Marine Corps contracts Alelo TLT to build Virtual Cultural Awareness Trainer
It has been reported that the U. S. Marine Corps has contracted Alelo TLT to build an Afghanistan-focused Virtual Cultural Awareness Trainer course for deploying troops.
The trainer course would give Marines heightened knowledge of the local culture and language, Alelo said on Thursday.
The VCAT is being developed as a team effort between the Marine Corps Systems Command/Program Manager Training Systems and the U. S. Joint Forces Command.
It also said that it will be available on JFCOM's Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) portal.
Dr. Andre Valente, Alelo's CEO and CTO, said, "U. S. operations in Afghanistan are of critical importance and Alelo is eager to help our men and women serving there. Alelo will build on and extend the technology and methodology used to create VCAT Horn of Africa and VCAT Northern Africa to deliver a robust and engaging training experience for war-fighters deploying to Afghanistan."
It has further been reported that VCAT courses provide online, mission-based culture and language training through methods such as game-based learning, storytelling, tutoring, and remediation. (With Inputs from Agencies)
