Vancouver Airport again ranked best North American airport

Vancouver Airport again ranked best North American airportThe Vancouver International Airport has been honoured with the title of the best airport in North America for the fourth year and eight best airport in the world.

Skytrax, a U.  K.-based aviation research company, carried out a poll of 12 million passengers surveyed at 395 airports around the world and determined that that Vancouver International Airport is best voted airport in North America.  The airport was first voted the best airport in the region in 2007 and has been the only airport in the Western Hemisphere to be ranked in the global top 10 since then.

Larry Berg, president and CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority said, "Thank everyone for their continued vote of confidence.  In an ever-competitive landscape, this award represents the hard work of airport staff and volunteers, our airline, retail and business partners and their commitment to continuously improve YVR's facilities and customer experience."

The passengers voted on various aspects including comfort, signage, transportation availability and passenger amenities.  Tony Gugliotta, YVR's senior vice-president of marketing and business development said that the award by an independent institution illustrates that airport has been working to improve customer experience.  He cited Canada Line service to downtown Vancouver, the airport's volunteer Green Jacket information service and other additions as reasons for passengers to vote Vancouver International Airport as the best in the region.
