Vitamin D Levels of mother affect Baby's Dental HealthIt is for the first time that vitamin D level in the expecting mothers has been associated with the dental health of their infants.

Researchers at the University of Manitoba, at the General Session of the International Association for Dental Research in Toronto, reported that babies of the women with deficiency of vitamin D during pregnancy, may suffer early childhood tooth decay.

Only 21 women out of 206 women had sufficient levels of vitamin D, according to the research. The researchers also found low levels of vitamin D in the mothers of the children who showed signs of tooth decay.

High levels of vitamin D were reported in the women who drank more milk and took vitamins during pregnancy.
