Woman charged with murder of her three kids
Authorities have said that a woman whose children were found dead in her townhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland, has been charged with their murder.
The Scotsman has reported that Theresa Riggi, 46, who was hospitalized after falling or jumping from a balcony, was arrested Friday at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
It was also reported that Riggi and her husband, Pasquale, were in the process of a bitter divorce. The couple, both U. S. nationals, had lived in Scotland for 13 years.
The three children, Gianluca and Augustino, both 8, and Cecelia, 5, were born in Scotland.
It was further noted by the report that a custody hearing had been scheduled for Tuesday for the Edinburgh Court of Sessions, but Theresa Riggi failed to appear. The judge asked social workers to visit the home and when they arrived on Wednesday they found her lying in the street and the area cordoned off because of what turned out to be false reports of a gas explosion.
She had only happy memories of Theresa Riggi and her children, said a former neighbor in Skene near Aberdeen.
The friend said, "She was a loving mum, absolutely doting. She always seemed very sociable to me." (With Inputs from Agencies)
