70 Reported Falling Ill After Having Lunch In Restaurant
Around 70 people have reported ill after recently eating at the restaurant in Shuian Shanba, a holiday resort in the suburbs of Beijing.
According to the health functionaries, the people showed symptoms of unsettled stomach and vomiting after having midday meal at the restaurant.
The majority of the ailing people were admitted to local hospitals and nine of them, comprising a 2 year old kid, were shifted to a hospital in Beijing.
All nine ailing people had clonidine, a medicine for hypertension, in their blood, a physician at the hospital said.
The doctor added that the victims' food was possibly contaminated with clonidine.
Though the patients were all stable, they were not ready to talk Saturday and disregarded reporters' queries with "I'm tired and want to sleep." (With Inputs from Agencies)
