97 players register for IPL-3 auctions

Ipl-logo97 players including 26 Pakistani players have registered their names for the auction of the third edition of the lucrative Indian Premier League to be held on 19th January.

Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Asif, Mohammed Aamer and Umar Akmal are among the 26 Pakistani players who have filed their registration. New Zealand pacer Shane Bond has also made himself available for the IPL-3.

Former ICL players including Damien Martyn, Chris Cairns, Saqlain Mushtaq and Justin Kemp have also registered their names. Rizwan Cheema and Khurram Chohan of Canada, Ryan ten Doeschate of Netherlands and Niall O'Brien of Ireland are among other registered players.

The list of registered players will be sent to eight franchises of IPL and franchises will select players for final auction where these franchises will bid for the selected players. In the last edition of IPL, 100 players had registered for the auction and only 50 were selected by the franchises for the final auction.
