Renowned film maker Tahir Hussain, who is the father of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, passed away after suffering a major heart attack today morning.

Tahir, who contributed a great deal to the Hindi film industry as a writer, director, actor and producer, breathed his last at Aamir's house in Bandra.

Hussain is well-known for producing hit Hindi flicks including Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Dulha Bikta Hai, Zakhmee, Anamika and Caravan.

Not many know, Tahir had also acted in a few movies like Pyar Ka Mausam, Janam Janam Na Saath and Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai.

Tahir Hussain began his movie career in the year 1957 as an assistant director to his brother Nasir in flicks such asl Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Dil Deke Dekho.

His first directorial debut was 'Tum Mere Ho' starring son Aamir and Juhi Chawla in the year 1990.

Mr. Hussain is survived by his loving wife Zeenat, two sons, Aamir and Faisal, and two daughters, Farhat and Nikhat.

Presently, Aamir and Kiran are in United States, while Imran Khan is in New Zealand.

According to the sources, Aamir is on his way back to India from USA.
