New Delhi, Sep 5 : Senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani is all set to take up nationwide ''Yatra'' to boost the morale of party cadres and conduct a talent-hunt among the GenX of the party.
Advani would launch his ''yatra'' around September 15 either from Jammu or Kerala, a report published in the Manoramaonline. com quoted a source close to Advani as saying.
Advani would also visit the three states of Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh where the State Assembly polls are scheduled in the first week of October, as part of his yatra.
Since BJP’s defeat during Lok Sabha polls, Advani had announced that he would travel across the country to rebuild the party from the grass root level.
The Yatra (journey) was supposed to begin immediately after the Budget Session of the Parliament on August 7. But it was delayed because of the turmoil in the wake of Jaswant Singh’s controversial book on Pakistan founder M. A. Jinnah and his expulsion from the party.
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat recently had reportedly told Advani during their meeting to oversee and ensure generation change in the party leadership.
Unlike his previous "Rath yatras", this tour will not see Advani hold public meetings. He will basically interact with BJP workers at all levels and get a first-hand account of what ails the party, stated the web portal.
The tour is also aimed at looking for "young talent that can be inducted into the party", the source said. (ANI)
