Air India employees call off strike after court order

Air-IndiaAfter two days of strike that affected close to 15,000 passengers, the employees of Air India finally called off their strike.

The move happened after the High Court issued a stay order on the strike and asked the employees to come back to work.

However, 15 of the striking heads have been fired by the company and as per the rules they can be taken back only by the board of directors of Air India. As per the state-owned aviation company more terminations are on their way.

Both the ongoing strike as well as the one that was supposed to happen on May 31 has been called off and the employee union members said that an agreement between the management and the union has been reached.

The reason for the strike was that Air India had imposed a gag order on all the engineers of the company. It had asked them not to speak to the media about the Mangalore crash.

Engineers had earlier said that the aircraft that met with the accident had not been checked by the engineers.
