Airtel and IBM Signs a 10-yr Deal
A ten year deal has been signed between Bharti Airtel and IBM, under which IBM will put in its best efforts to serve its employees with a professional atmosphere and better efficiency.
According to the deal, IBM employees across 16 African countries will be now enjoying IT solutions along with standard operating environment, help desk and desk side support, end-user services (especially in French and English for employees in Airtel Africa) etc.
It can be said that the employees in IBM will now see a better streamlining in all the procedures as the partnership between the two companies’ states that costs must be reduced by the consolidation of Airtel's help desk and also more efficiency must be brought into the IT operations.
"Today's announcement builds on a strategic partnership signed in late 2010 to manage computing technology and services to power Airtel's mobile communications network spanning 16 African countries", said a statement.
Since 2004, both the companies were associated together as in 2004 IBM extended its IT services and applications for Airtel's network in India.
Also, there is news that Bharti Airtel’s arm i. e. Bharti Infratel is planning to raise approx $1 billion or Rs. 4,500 crore, for which it will be soon holding an IPO (initial public offer) to sells its 10% stake.
