Airtel to go for 3G bidding with its supplier as competition intensifiesBharti Airtel, the telecommunications major has said that it will along with its existing equipment suppliers for the bidding of 3G licenses. The news was given by one of the top executives of the company.

The first round of bidding started on Friday and many players went ahead with it. The selling which is expected to touch billion of dollars has been long awaited and postponed.

As per the current bidding, many of the top telecom companies have appeared till now. And experts believe that looking at the current scenario; the competition is expected to intensify even more.

Talking about the deal, Rajan Bharti Mittal, MD of Bharti Airtel said that he is going to use his vendors to make his case stronger. He was talking to private news agency, Reuters, during the sideline of the ongoing Boao Forum on southern China's Hainan Island.

The names of the most prominent players are Nokia Siemens and Sweden's Ericsson besides others, Rajan said.

About the Zain deal, he said that there were no more obstacles in the path. The $9 billion had regulatory hurdles but Airtel is going to sign the legally binding agreement in a short span of time.
