Amazon counterattacks Web Sales Tax

amazonAmazon. com Inc. seems to be getting annoyed after the imposed law for new sales-tax regulations on online retailers, in Colorado.

This weekend Amazon has sent an email to its members in its program, who were earning a fee for the links on Amazon Web site. In the mail, Amazon confirmed that it shall close its operations from March.

However Amazon's decision seems to be a little vague as the same doesn't give a clarity on the retaliation of Amazon to drop its network. Further, in the email, Amazon wrote to its affiliates that due to new law, the group has decided to curtail its advertising business in Colorado.

Colorado's governor nodded to sign on the new law, which regulates online retailers to collect sales tax and share information with the state regarding the transactions done by residents, so that the residents can pay the tax on the purchase.

According to Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter, in a fit of agitation, Amazon has taken immature step towards its business and associates.

From the view point of Amazon spokesperson, the group has been advertising through different ways, but unfortunately after the new law came into existence the company has decided to curtail advertising through associates based in Colorado.
