Potawatomi Casino Hotel Milwaukee’s new poker room & sportsbook to open on May 3rd

The Potawatomi Casino Hotel, a gambling-friendly property in the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin owned & operated by the Forest County Potawatomi Community, is poised to unveil its eagerly awaited new poker room and retail sportsbook on May 3rd, 2024. Representing the conclusion of a transformative $190 million casino redevelopment project, the new poker room and sportsbook promise an elevated gaming experience at the vibrant heart of Milwaukee.

Under the stewardship of the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe, the Potawatomi Casino Hotel is nestled in the erstwhile domain of the Northern Lights Theater on the first level at 1721 W. Canal St. The Las Vegas-style sportsbook and a fourteen-table poker room embody a long-awaited dream for the city.

Dominic Ortiz, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Potawatomi Casino Hotel, expressed the community's anticipation, stating that the city had been inquiring and eagerly anticipating the return of poker. The month of September in 2023 saw the commencement of construction on these venues, accompanied by the setting up of 24/7 self-service betting kiosks all over the casino.

Sean Cullen, CEO of the sportsbook, envisions the venue propelling Potawatomi Casino into the ranks of a top travel destination in the Midwest.

Speaking on the topic, Cullen said, “There is not a retail betting space outside of Las Vegas that can compete with the high-end venue we’re unveiling on May 3. With the 75 kiosks we currently have, we are #2 in the country for gross gaming revenue of publicly reporting sportsbooks.”

The poker room will offer a variety of games, including 1-3 No Limit, Pot Limit Omaha, and 2-5 No Limit, augmented by enticing promotions like Bad Beat Jackpot and Hourly High Hand Jackpots. Ortiz praised the ambiance of the venues, especially the 6,500-square-foot betting shop adorned with more than 200 seats, more than 20 huge televisions measuring up to 98 inches, a broadcast booth, and a 2,000-square-foot LED screen. Guests will also enjoy the ease of ticket writers and kiosks within the bookie.

With the curtain set to rise on May 3rd, the Potawatomi Casino Hotel stands ready to usher in a new era of entertainment, firmly positioning itself as a leading gaming destination in the Midwest. Assuring patrons that the anticipation will undoubtedly be "well worth it," the operator extends a warm invitation to relish the next level of an immersive sports betting atmosphere.
