Amazon launches new Fulfillment Centre near Bangalore

AmazonAmazon Seller Services India Private Limited on Monday announced the launch of its second Fulfillment Centre India. The new facility, which will become operational by February this year, is located near Bangalore.

The renowned retailer's second Fulfillment Centre in India is spread over 150,000 square feet of floor area. It is a multi-level, secure facility that can stock and store millions of products across a number of categories from sellers using 'Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)' platform.

In other words, Amazon Fulfillment Centers are storehouses where online retailers who use FBA services, and stock the inventory of their various products.

Announcing the launch of the new centre, the company said, "The new, modern, multilevel, secure facility equipped with Amazon's world-class and state-of-the-art warehousing systems and processes will be able to stock and store millions of products of all sizes across several categories from sellers using Fulfilment by Amazon."

Amazon said in a statement that the investment was part of the company's continued focus on improving online shopping experience for Indian consumers as well as enabling Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to reap the benefits of a strong national platform using Fulfillment by Amazon.

The company's first Fulfillment Centre is located in Bhiwandi, on the outskirts of Mumbai.
