The home was made famous by the horror film of 1970s Amityville has been sold in Long Island of New York. It was sold for $1.15 million. This house with five bedrooms at Ocean Avenue in Amityville got famous through the film based on the true story of Lutz family who came there in 1975.

The family member has said that they realized that the house was haunted very soon after their arrival.

A few months earlier another family of six members had been killed when they were sleeping in the house. The eldest son of that family was charged of that murder in 1974. A book and a series of films made as per description provided by the Lutz family.

The house was made just as a Dutch colonial style home and there is a canal which has been renovated for this buy out.

Therefore the house has been sold for such a big price. There have been several owners for this house since 1970s and the address has been changed from the original to keep onlookers away.
