Cape Town (South Africa), Nov. 25 : England fast bowler James Anderson has cleared the air with skipper Alastair Cook, insisting that he does not want his best mate''s job.
Anderson, 27, rejected claims that he was furious at not being named England''s vice-captain.
"I have more than enough to worry about with my bowling," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Cook was named as Strauss'' deputy in Test cricket this year. He led England in the second Twenty20 match against South Africa when both Strauss and Collingwood were missing.
Anderson had been quoted in a magazine as being "gutted" at missing out on the role.
"It was rubbish really. I said something tongue-in-cheek and it has been blown out of proportion. If I have an opinion on the field, I will say something to Straussy or whoever is captain. I enjoy that. I see myself as the leader of the attack," Anderson said. (ANI)
