Antelope trapped in a deep well in Rajasthan

Antelope trapped in a deep well in RajasthanRasgan Village (Rajasthan), Jan 6 : The locals of Rasgan village here are trying hard to save a Nilgai (an antelope), which has been trapped inside a deep well for the last three days.

The Nilgai, expected to be around two-years old, fell into the 25 feet deep well while grazing in the field, claim villagers.

Though considered a menace to the farmers, the villagers are putting their best efforts to save the animal from dying. Villagers throw a bunch of grass every time the animal bawls.

A bucket full of water is taken down the well with the help of a rope for the animal to quench its thirst.

"We are filling water in buckets and taking it down to the well with ropes and giving it to the nilgai. The animal has been trapped here for the last three days," said Bhagvan, a villager.

Villagers say that despite informing the forest officials, no one has turned up to rescue the antelope.

"The nilgai has been trapped here for the last three days. We even informed the forest officials but no one has turned up till now, so we are looking after the animal," said Surender, another villager. (ANI)
