Anxiety disorder ups heart attacks

Anxiety disorder ups heart attacksHeart patients who suffer from anxiety disorders have high chances of suffering from stroke, heart attack, heart failure and death, according to findings of a study.

The findings come from a study performed by Elisabeth J. Martens, Ph. D., of Tilburg University, Tilburg, the Netherlands, and colleagues, claimed that anxiety is reason behind 74 percent cases of cardiovascular events.

In further addition to it anxiety was linked with catecholamines which are considered to be the "fight or flight" hormones that often results in heart risks.

Patients who complain of anxiety likely seek care when they suffer with similar symptoms and thus, tend more towards having a diagnosis of heart or stroke, which supposedly explains the case of death risk.

Also the case is further supported by the report that involves evaluation and treatment of anxiety that is featured as vital part of study of patients' coronary heart ailments.
