Apple sold record 10 million iPhones in opening weekend

iphone-6-plusWashington, Sep 23 : Apple's latest additions to the iPhone family, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus made a record sale of more than 10 million in just three days since the launch.

The record sale is one million more than combined nine million sales of the iPhone 5C and 5S last year.

However, Apple CEO Tim Cook believes that they could have sold many more iPhone with greater supply, and the sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded their expectations for the launch weekend.

Cook added that they are working hard to meet the demands and fill orders as quickly as possible.

Most of those supply issues appear to be primarily impacting the larger iPhone 6 Plus at this stage, with devices hard to find in store and long delivery delays affecting even those who pre-ordered the handset, The Verge reported.

Cook's promise of selling even more iPhones with greater supply shows there's clearly demand for Apple's bigger smartphones, and the 10 million figure backs that up thoroughly, report said. (ANI)
