Mumbai, May 20 : Hinduja Group-promoted heavy vehicles company Ashok Leyland Thursday reported an increase of 33.33 percent in its net profits for the fourth quarter of the last fiscal at Rs. 298.22 crore.
The total income of the company in the quarter under review increased by 30.30 percent to Rs. 3,832.64 crore from Rs. 2,941.34 crore for the fourth quarter of 2009-10.
The full-year net profit of the company also jumped 49 percent and stood at Rs. 631.29 crore from Rs. 423.67 crore in 2009-10, prompted by a 45-percent increase in domestic sales at 83,800 units as compared to 57,947 units in 2009-10.
While, yearly exports grew by a whooping 72 percent at 10,306 units from 5,979 units in 2009-10.
The total income of the automobile giant also grew to Rs. 11,117.70 crore as compared to Rs. 7,244.71 crore in the like period of corresponding fiscal year.(IANS)
