Asus launches PadFone in India

AsusElectronics giant, Asus has announced the launch of its new PadFone device powered by Google’s Android platform, in the Indian market.

The Asus PadFone runs on Android 4.0 ICS and is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The device comes with a unique dockable PadFone Station that converts the device into a 10.1-inch tablet computer.

The PadFone has a a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. The company is offering 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera and VGA front facing camera for video calling service in the device. As for connectivity, the device comes with 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The unique PadFone Station comes with a 10.1inch display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels . It has a 8 megapixel rear camera and a1.3 megapixel front camera. The station also has a 6,600 mAh battery that can charge the smartphone when it is docked. It also comes with a keyboard dock with a speerate 6,600 mAh battery along with two USB 2.0 ports and a memory card reader slot.

The Asus PadFone will be priced at a high of Rs. 64,999 in the Indian market.
