Bangalore Metro Back on Track, Operational Activities Resumed FridayThe authorities of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) have issued pre-paid travelling passes to people in order to avoid last minute long queue at ticket counters of the stations. The scheme has been formulated keeping in mind to save the time of travelers.

The law has been put into action as of last Friday, for the time being, the authorities of BMRCL are waiting for approval from the Railway Safety Commission on working of 6.7 km first phase of the Metro (Reach-1) from M. G. Road station to Baiyyapanahalli terminal.

As per BMRCL Managing Director N. Sivasailam, "The railway safety commissioner (D. K. Singh) will inspect the Metro facility, stations, signaling system and commuter facilities, including safety measures from Sep 6-10 to certify them for operationalising the Metro service”.

After receiving the approval, Chief Minister D. V. Sadananda Gowda will be inviting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for inaugurating the metro, according to his schedule. Five years back Mr. Singh has led the foundation stone of the project.

With the start of the metro, the authorities estimate that around 25,000-30,000 people will access to the service for their daily travelling. The metro is open from morning 6am to 12 pm at night.
