Bharti Airtel, Asia's leading integrated telecom services provider with operations in India and Sri Lanka, has entered into an agreement with the Bhutan government for creating a new terrestrial cable network in the neighboring country.
The telecom giant stated in a release that it has signed a MoU with the Royal Government of Bhutan to extend fibre connectivity to the Himalayan Kingdom. The launch of Bhutan Fibre Connect is reiteration of Bharti Airtel's commitment to building a truly global network.
The initiative will enable enterprises in Bhutan to reach out to different countries by accessing Bharti's cable assets, through its international cable landing stations in Chennai and Mumbai.
