BHEL registers growth of 39% in its Q2 net profit

BHELPublic sector firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has registered a growth of 39 per cent in its net profit, which surged to Rs 857.88 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009.

The company had posted net profit of Rs 615.77 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

The company’s total income has also increased to Rs 6,923.02 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 from Rs 5,649.84 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.

Further, its net sales grew to Rs 6,625.21 crore in the latest quarter of the current financial year from Rs 5,342.63 crore of the same period a year earlier.

Despite declaring good results, the stock of the company closed today at 2384, down 2% compared to its previous close. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 2550 on 17 October 2009 and a
52-week low of Rs 984.10 on 27 October 2008.
