Patna, June 23 : Though a lot of farmers in different parts of the country were delighted to receive pre-monsoon showers, many farmers in Bihar have turned a worried lot.

Agricultural experts have also given a not-so-clear observation of the early rains and their likely impact.

The monsoon has hit Bihar quite early that this premature arrival of monsoon has upset the farmers' sowing schedule for the Kharif season.

For farmers in Patna, this is the time to sow seeds of paddy but because of the early arrival monsoon this year, they are busy draining out water from their land.

Farmers are anxious that the amount of time, seeds and energy spent in the initial cultivation process would go in vain because they may have to sow the seeds once again.

"If monsoon would have arrived in the mid of July, it would have been pleasing. But this early arrival of rains have all affects on our crops and hard work," said Satyendranarayan Singh, an affected farmer.

Meanwhile, agriculture experts have a different picture of the days to come for farmers.

The Regional Director of Indian Council for Agricultural Research has a different opinion to the grievances of these farmers.

"It depends on the time of planting and sowing the seeds. The best period is counted near May 25th. Those, who have planted the seeds during that time they are not likely to face this problem whereas the farmers who have just sowed the seeds they are surely going to face this trouble," said Mohammed Allauddin Khan, Regional Director of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research in Patna.
