BOC India to spend Rs 1000 crore on capacity expansion

boc indiaIndustrial gases supplier BOC India, has decided to invest Rs 1,000 crore in enhancing its installed capacity by December 2011.

The investment is expected to generate an additional revenue of Rs 800 crore in the next three years.

Out of total proposed amount, the company would raise Rs 700 crore in the form of debt.

Giving details regarding investment plans, a senior company official said "An additional Rs 50 crore would go towards financing a 250 tonnes per day merchant air separation plant at Selaqui, Uttarakhand. While another Rs 450 crore will go into setting up a 1700 tpd air separation plant at Rourkela that will supply to the Rourkela steel plant.

The company intends to keep Rs 500 crore aside in near future, for the setup of an air separation plant investment.

The Uttarakhand plant is scheduled to be operational by the middle of 2010. The facility is expected to bring in additional revenue of Rs 150 crore per year to the company.

The company aims to achieve a revenue growth of 20-25% during the calendar year 2009.
