Bodies of soldiers killed in Himachal accident sent homeShimla, Oct 5 : Bodies of seven Indian Army personnel who were killed in a road accident in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district have been sent to their native places, an official said Monday.

"All the seven bodies of Army personnel were sent to their native places this (Monday) evening after completing legal formalities," Col Mukesh Bansal, a spokesperson for the Shimla-based Army Training Command (ARTRAC), told IANS.

Earlier, the police said that eight soldiers were killed in the accident near Tattapani, 55 km from here.

However, Bansal clarified the dead comprised seven Army personnel of the Bangalore-based Army Supply Corps centre and a civilian driver, who were killed when the vehicle rolled down a 250-feet deep gorge Sunday evening.

He said the soldiers were here on a training programme.

"They went to Tattapani for training. The accident occurred when they were returning to Shimla," he said.(IANS)
