Amritsar, Sep 30 : At least four people including a woman were injured when a boiler in a butter factory exploded here early on Wednesday.

The impact of the blast was such that windowpanes of the nearby buildings were smashed.

The explosion occurred at a health aid factory situated in a residential area at around 6.15 a. m.

Fire brigades were pressed into service to douse the flames out.

Kulwinder Kaur, who was injured in the incident, said she was at her home when a hot object hit her arm.

Residents have been demanding for the shifting of the factory, but the city administration has not heeded their request so far.

According to Harwinder Singh, an eyewitness he heard the blast while on his way to a hospital.

Sadiq Masih, a fire officer said the fire brigade is searching for trapped persons.

Masih added that the injured were admitted to the City Government Hospital. (ANI)
