Mumbai, June 17 : Addressing a news conference here this evening, Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja’s wife, Anupam, said he was being framed and denied that her husband had ever confessed to sleeping or having consensual sex with their 18-year-old maid.

Maintaining that Shiney was an innocent man, Anupam said the rape charge was all rubbish.

"He has not made any statement. He never made the statement of confession and he obviously not made the statement. Every day in the newspaper I read different versions of everything. Truth has only on version and the version is he is innocent,” she said.

Shiny Ahuja was arrested on Monday and is in police custody till June 18 for allegedly raping the domestic help at his residence while they were alone at home.

The police arrested Ahuja after preliminary medical tests on the girl confirmed sexual assault.

A forensic team visited the actor''''s house in suburban Oshiwara, where the alleged offence was committed, to try and obtain more evidence from the spot. The house was sealed by the police later.

On Wednesday, Ahuja was questioned for the third day in succession by police even as police was contemplating to subject him to DNA test to gather corroborative evidence.

"We have questioned him again today in connection with the case," police sources said adding that the actor was lodged in Andheri lock-up.

Meanwhile, a team of Mumbai police has gone to Roha in nearby Raigad district, the native place of the victim, to verify from her school whether she was a minor.

On Tuesday, Mumbai police said the actor had admitted to making a ''''''''mistake'''''''' by having ''''''''consensual sex'''''''' with the maid who has levelled allegations of rape against him.

They also said the teenaged girl had described a ''''''''violent'''''''' and traumatic scene.

Police officers confirmed that they have received a report from the Nagpada police hospital saying that medical tests show the girl was sexually assaulted. However, while the girl had injuries on her private parts, indicating forcible sex, there was no evidence of injuries elsewhere on her body.

According to a senior police officer, the victim was allegedly hit by Ahuja while she was resisting him. The officer further stated that the victim told the police that her condition was so bad that she could not get up for almost half an hour after the incident.

The officer said the girl was completely shattered after the incident.

An interrogator said that Ahuja has told the police that ''''''''he made a mistake, but with the girl''''s consent''''''''.

He added that the police have enough evidence to prove Ahuja guilty of rape. Ahuja has also been arrested for wrongful confinement and giving a death threat. (ANI)
