Bopara would have been happy for England to win Lord''s ODI

Bopara would have been happy for England to win Lord''s ODILondon, Sep. 12 : Middle order batsman Ravi Bopara who made an impressive 96, said he would have been happy if England had won the tied one-day international played against India on Sunday.

"I am just down that I could not finish the game. I want to win games, not tie them. But it did not happen today. But the bigger picture is that we have clinched the series and that is more important," Bopara said.

England cricket captain Alastair Cook has said that his side would have definetely won the match.

"We almost got over the line and they said we fancied out chances if it had not rained, because till the end we would have batted. We would have eight in the three or four overs if we ended the batting. But such was the situation and as I said earlier we ended up batting against Duckworth-Lewis ball by ball. I saw the way Ravi had transformed it and it was fantastic. Yes I was seeing to winning the series, because of it I was delighted," Cook said.

Chasing India''s score of 281 for five, England scored 270 for eight in 48.5 overs before rain intervened and necessitated the use of the Duckworth-Lewis system to declare the match a tie.

England has won the series, as there is just one match to play. It already has a two nil lead in the series. The first match was washed out. (ANI)
