A study carried out in Netherlands stated that pregnant women doing boring and repetitive household work raises the chances of harm to the baby, resulting in premature delivery.

Daily mail reported that instead of doing household activities, would-be-moms are recommended to do exercises which are good for both mother and unborn child.

Hajo Wildschut of Erasmus University, the lead researcher said that Pregnancy is not a disease, and mostly all the women enjoy good health during pregnancy and deliver healthy babies.

Women should not restrict their physical activities during pregnancy for safe delivery, if they enjoy a good health and do not suffer from any pregnancy complications. They may carefully carry on their daily routine including tough activities like squash and weight training even until late stages of pregnancy.

To reach the conclusion, researchers have examined 12000 new mothers. They have asked these mothers about their exercise pattern and involvement in household activities during pregnancy, they also asked about their jobs, the weight of their babies and regarding their delivery, whether baby was born on time or it is a premature delivery.

After examining these mothers' researchers came to a conclusion that would be Moms who were involve in mentally unstimulating work in house or outside the house, have increased chances of giving birth at least three weeks early by up to 25 per cent.

Researchers have developed a thought that boring work might increase the level of stress hormones which finally shoot labor pains before time but they do not have enough proof to support their theory.

The study will be printed in the Perinatal Epidemiology journal. This journal also provides information that inactive lifestyle during pregnancy raises the chances of having underweight baby, while tough exercises causes no harm to baby as well as to mother.
